National Day.. Wish all of you the best.

Seems that I agree with the term National Day. Just a date where we celebrate every year in memory of the time when we got to govern the country on our own. But, the term 'Merdeka' or celebrating our indipendence is way over-rated... here's why I think that is so.

1. Much to our Merdeka, we are still under submission to other 'superior'. At the moment, most of us are 'living to work' and NOT 'work for a living'. We have to work when they wanted us to. Most of the time with no extra benefit, no overtime and no extra allowance. Instead of working to bring back income for the family..you are getting income just enough to pay bills, pay all debts, some food and transportation cost to go back and forth the ofice. Time spend in the office are far more than at home... with the motto "be thankful you have a job right now. there are many people who are still looking for a job.." most employers will say that to you. Is that a threat?

2. While we should show the world what we are capable of when we're 'merdeka', we end up taking all that the others have to offer and treat our own things as rubbish. From culture, attitude, music, arts and even inventions.. to us, anything local is craps and anything from outside is good..merdeka?? (even some of us like hindustan and dangdut better than our own local flavour.) NOT ALL of the things from Malaysia is Bad.. and if you really have brains.. you should realise that.

3. In the matters of heart.. we are always in dilemma. Always have problems in making good decisions. And we tned to hold on to the bad past of our lives when we should have move on, plan for a better future and make the best out of the present situation. Seems that the past still chain us, and thus make all ou present decision going back to what we had in the past. Merdeka?

So, what is Merdeka anyway? I don't feel like I am Merdeka for now...For some reason, certain major things in life are still dictated by others..

MERDEKA ARE YOU??

Happy National Day people...
