Cyberia Cafe at West End London.

I should have put this entry up long time ago. Wrote sometrhing down, got mental block (like always) and have been a only a draft ver since.

Well, It's not that duplex condo at Cyberjaya. I'm not talking about that at all. (Although, if there's anybody could get me that place at a cheap price.. I'll consider). It's about history.. the first cybercafe (or Internet cafe or CC as you wish to call it) in the world opened at West End London on 31st August 1994, 10 years ago.

Although US claims to be the originator of the Internet and the first cybercafe was founded in UK, the founder of Cyberia Cafe is Eva Pascoe from Poland, a doctorate student stydying in cognitive psychology at Univesity of London. She also played basketball for the Polish national team. A true example of Internet for all, around the world.

To know more about this Cyberia Cafe and the founder. Do read this article by Eric Pfanner from IHT Online

So the next time you celebrate National Day and you feel there's nothing to celebrate about, think about it is also the date when the first Cybercafe in the world started. Maybe that could get you in the mood of celebration.

cheers!!
