It's an Emergency.. We Now Declare War!!

Have you read the newspapers these past 2 weeks? No, not the news in particular but the prepaid starter pack campaign from all the telcos.

It started out with Digi promoting their new starter pack at RM18. Then comes Celcom with their RM20 starter pack and lastly Hotlink with their own RM20 starter pack. All of which with preloaded airtime of RM10 and additional RM10 upon sending over the registration card and all in the name on 'Festive Promotion'.

To make the war heater. Last Monday Digi even announced thier new reloading scheme which allows you to reload at any amount you can afford starting from RM1. Even better, Digi Prepaid user can also transfer their preloaded credit to another Digi Prepaid user from as low as RM3 as long as you have a minimum of RM20 in your credit balance.

So what's with this new war among the telcos? My assumption is that the market is now too saturated that you're now targeting young new user to have their own lines. If possible, have 2 or 3 lines in hand.

I'm expecting even more 4 year old kids will have their own handphone after this campaign. Using their 'duit raya' to buy the handphone . The telco will then start launching their new SMS services for these kids and you'll know where these leads after that.

Parents beware. These war will affect small kids from now. *evil grin*
