APM 2005 : I'm proud of you guys!!

I was introduced to these guys back in May last year. Back then, they were still planning on recording thier own album. I, on the other hand was there just to watch them practice. (If you're wondering what the hell I'm doing in Singapore, I just finished shoot my last segment of a TV show for ntv7 back then..)

So, I listen to their the songs, thier musicianship and thier talents. Somehow, I have a feeling that this band could go far in the music scene, given the proper channel and direction.

We keep in touch since then. Discuss a few ideas along the way and later that year, they finally release their debut album 'Suara Dunia'.

That was in 2004.

One night in 2005, I got a message from one of the members, informing me that they were nominated as the finalist at the Anugerah Planet Muzik 2005 in 5 different categories. What makes it more exciting, because of that, they got to perform one of their song at the award ceremony.

So, that's where I've been last week. I was in Singapore. Preparing the band for their first Live TV performance. Watched by 25 million people across Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Indonesia. (people actually watch TVRI??.. really??)

And what do you know, the band bagged 3 awards that night, including Best New Duo or Group Artiste, which was the first time ever to be won by any Singaporean Band since the awards first started 5 years ago.

What can I say? I'm proud of you guys... and to Dimas, Eddy, Zu, Kief, Ard, Awi and Athif, (not to forget Shaliza and Nadirah) it is definitely an honor to work along with the band.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN..I present to you, Bhumiband !!

This will not be the last time you'll hear about them. THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING.

More pictures on my Fotopages site.

And then....???

She passed away 3 years ago due to old age. 'Sakit tua' as the malays would say it. Leaving her childrens and her grandchildrens behind. It is indeed a sad day for many as she was a wonderful sister, mother, aunty, grandmother to the relatives.

She's just a simple lady living all her life in a small town. With her late husband who passed away 3 years earlier than her, she lived a life that was envied, in a good way, by many of her siblings. The way she manage her households, the way she brings up all her children and how she handles all her problems and fears is admirable. Many mothers would wish that they could be at least have her patience and her dedication. Her husband was a humble man, respected by many. The couple live to set an example on how love should be. How love is more than just affection to one another and how love does come from home.

It was on this date that she passed away, three years ago. Not being able to see her newborn grandchildren who came to the world a day earlier. Her children cleaned up the house after the ceremony, one of them found a picture of her late husband, their father. On the picture written the date when he passed away. It was exactly 14th February, just a few years earlier than her.

In rememberance to Allahyarham Hj Rushdi and Hjh Ara, the couple who passed away on the same date. May Allah blessed your souls.

p.s Kak Ri and others, If there's any correction on the facts, please inform.

Happy Birthday to Youu.....

Hanan Afiqah, the first grandaughter for my parents and the first child for my brother is 3 years old today. This cute little angel is not just smart but a fast learner too. I hope school will not bore her to death later..

My youngest bro and I decided to give her a tricycle for her birthday. Couldn't get it in time since many shops are still closed for the Chinese New Year.

There's Still Hope

Anybody work in the middle of KL city center? It's wonderful and relaxing drive to work today isn't it? Seems that most of the city folks are already on thier holiday and definitely not in KL at the moment.

It's been slightly over a month we've in 2005. How did we do so far? Is there any positive progress to all resolutions made for 2005? (in the first place, is there any resolutions made at all?) OR is there any resolution that already go down to the drain as the new year started? (sudah kecundang di minit awal perlawanan..)

why am I rambling about all this? Well, this week, we have a chance to do all that all over again. Yes, it's the week to celebrate new year. And not just one, but TWO new year celebration. (Now, I sound like the infomercial on TV..)

Double celebration people!. Chinese New Year and Awal Muharram, the new year for Islamic calender falls on the same date. So, now's your chance to renew your new year resolutions all over again and look for a fresh start in the new year.

As we all make our resolutions. I pray for all of you that we will achieve our resolutions and hopefully it will be double the success as it doubles in celebration.

As for the morning drive to work today, how I wish that the everyday traffic would be a good as today...

p.s I had to cut my leave short due to duty calls. Deadline is tight now. Oh well, Singapore! Here I come!

NEWS FLASH : This has just come in..

I've been lazy updating my blog haven't I? A few reasons on why I've not been updating the blog.

1. I don't really know what to write
2. I don;t feel like writing
3. I have no mood to blog.
4. Above all.. It's pure LAZINESS..

So, here I am, making an attempt to write something. *Bismillahirahmanirrahim*
OK. Things are getting hectic by the day (yes, I can still chat and I'm not making that hectic life as an excuse not being able to make time for others).. Almost got my insomnia to a danger level. But, somehow.. good news came in earlier today and the deadline has been streched till May. So, yeay!!... I can procastinate. More time to delay work (well, tak buat nanti.. orang kata melayu tak sedar diri..)

Anyway, February is here (time does fly isn't it?) and this month, it's travelling month for me.

I'll be going to Singapore again this weekend. Need top settle a few things with Dewa's concert promoter there and will be bringing the tickets for sale in JB and KL by next week. If you need to buy the tickets, call me.

Then on the 10th, I'll be following the guys from Tenggara Performance Club to Tereangganu where Layar Tanchap, the monthly performance of self-expression. Those of you who've been to the past event before at the Coffee Hut would know what it is all about. This time, it will be held at Pantai Batu Buruk, Terengganu. Anybody wants to follow us there?

Speaking of Coffee Hut, last weekend was the Nasi Dagang Party, celebrating Pok Ku's achievement for being voted as the best Malaysian Blog 2004. Thank you to Mokciknab for organising the party and the Nasi Dagang was superb. (I even get to bring back some, which was intended for my parents at home but end up at NAR studio, where the guys there ate it all)

Ishh.. OK, dah lari topic. Back to my travel schedule. I will be going to Singapore again. This time it will be for 4 days starting from the 15th for the Anugerah Planet Muzik and then another trip a week after that for Dewa's Concert. (so basically, I almost live in Singapore for the month of February)

So there you go. After much ramblings..I got myself an entry. Hahaha..

p.s Need to buy present for my niece's 3rd Birthday on 13th Feb. She's going to be 3 years old. I have no idea what to buy for her.
