Foo Fighters has always been one of my favourite band. Not many American bands made into my favourite list..(wait, they're Canadians..) First of all, the melody must be great. Even if it's a hard rock band, good music still needs good melody as a foundation. Then comes the arrangements, a well arranged song could hook you up to listen to the song over and over again.
.. and last but definitely not the least is the lyrics. Most people say, lyrics does not matter. Some even have the guts to say that lyrics is just an add-on that's not really important.
To me, a good song needs a good lyric. A good song have a lyric that beautifully written (again.. beauty, is very subjective). A good lyric should be able to get people's feeling into the story behind the song, which also means that the lyric does make sense to the people and they can relate to the story perfectly.
And Foo Fighters never fails to do that. At least to me...
