Bluntman & Chronic my hero...

A friend of mine mentioned earlier about his favorite movie The Mallrats. A movie by a director named Kevin Smith. He also played as one of the leading character called 'Silent Bob'

Those of you who have never seen any of Jay and Silent Bob movies, here's a preview from one of the movies. To those of you who already a fan of Kevin Smith's movies, get ready for Clerks II.

As much as I like movies directed by Baz Luhrmann, Quintin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez... Kevin Smith is no exceptional. THIS GUY ROCKS!!

p.s Thank You to all birthday wishes.. May God bless all of you too.. Amiinn..

If you think that I could be forgiven...I wish you would

Counting Crows - A Long December

I'm still cherishing the moments of the 90's. Like I said in my previous entry, it is an inspiring era for many. You're inspired to make changes in life. You're inspired to look for a better future. You would be inspired to live life to the fullest with the scarcity that life itself have provided to you.

I guess by this moment I'm betraying to my own life principle to not look back in the past and hang on too long to it. Reason being.. maybe I lost my inspirition, maybe I'm not inspired with the way things are going around me, with all the things that are too superficial and too good to be true. And maybe I just need to take a walk back down the memory lane one more time, to be reminded of how inspiring life should be and could be..

The fact is, I had had it with the 21st century lifestyle, how idiots have all the rights to dictate how the world should be, as long as the idiots have either the power, beauty or wealth.. a combanation of those elements or worst, all the elements.

Now how did such situation happened? I still wonder. Maybe these are the price we have to pay from our past sins.. I don't know..

Whatever it is, I'm turning back to look for lost inspiration. I wish I could..

I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower,
Makes you talk a little lower
About the things you could not show her

p.s As I'm cherishing the moments with the 90's videos of Counting Crows here in Rasta, DBKL gunmen are actually shooting crows right beside the outlet. How ironic..

Outside Looking In...

We were at the studio after a recording session, while listening to a newly recorded song by Nitrus. The sound and feel of the song reminds us a lot of the 90's era. The era of Alternative and Grunge music.

Gin Blossom - Till I Hear It From You

For me, the 90's was an exciting era. It was an inspiring era to many. A time where many had had it with lame commercialism, lame taglines and shallow philosophy of life.

Inventions are introduced to give fair chance to everybody to try. As a result, the sound of alternative and grunge music, the dot com boom and more significant independant movies.

This particular movie, is one of my favourite. I think, back then I did watched it more than 10 times. Over and over again. A simple movie. Light, funny and somehow, inspiring. Yes, I think inspiring is the right word for it since it does in some way, sum up a theme that tells us not to give up, not to lose hope and stick to your loves one no matter how ridiculous the situation would be for you.

And somehow good themes does pays. Most of the casts here are actually being features for the first time in this movie, are now a big star.. Liv Tyler with her success in Lord Of The Rings, Renee Zellwager with her Oscars and even Rory Cochrane, who's a star in CSI : Miami.

As I look back to the 90's. I wish that such inspiring era would come back. Inspiring many to their lives to the fullest and to hope for the best out of everything.

Enjoy the video from the soundtrack of Empire Records. Hope it will inspire you too..

Republic of Legoland welcomes you..

As a kid, I didn't get much toys on my possession. Back then, it's hard being a kid living in JB, where everyday Toy commercial being aired every few minutes during evening cartoon section by the Singapore Channel. While all toys seems cool to have at that time, you seldom get the toys that you want. Bigger possibility, you won't get the toys at all.

Yes, it's kinda frustrating at most times when you asked for the toys and the answer by my parent is 'NO'.

Somehow, every few months, they would still buy some toys for us, provided that we behave well (which, I usually fails on this..) and we are willing to share the toys among siblings..(ok, I have no problem with this..)

The most popular toys that we usually get is Lego. We have all sorts of lego. From the huge brick lego to the small bricks lego. From making a building to making a boat.. We had most of it..

Kinda think of it.. Now I know why my dad insist of having more Legos than having all that 'cool action figures..'

Lego is not just a toy. It's almost the ultimate educational toy that develops your creativities.

Enjoy the magnificent build of the Lego Stadium.. build in conjunction with World Cup 2006.

I'm glad that got my chance to play with Legos..

p.s Finally, England manage to pull off a good game last night.

Shook off the views of the common man..

Sowing The Seeds of Love - Tears For Fears

I'm not going to comment anything on the World Cup for now. At least not until all teams had their first game done. I think, it would only be fair to have an oppinion or two after every team had their first game and not before that.. (alasan sebenarnya ni.. )

Anyway, got this forwarded to my email. It's sounds really funny.. but if you give it a thought, there may be some truths to it..

Jangan pernah hiraukan perasaan hatiku..

Pemuja Rahsia - Sheila On 7

A 'hip-hop feel' style of song by Sheila On 7 on their album Pejantan Tangguh (or Pria Terhebat in Malaysia).

I like the video. It was nicely done to tell a sad story in a very cute manner..

Menikmati indahmu dari sisi gelapku..

Do NOT read beauty magazines it will only makes you feel UGLY!!

Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) - Baz Luhrmann

I've wrote about Baz Luhrmann before. To me he is a genius film director and by having this 'speech song', he's in a way making a statement that, even as a film director, he is really passionate about music.

Some excerpts from the lyrics including..

Get to know your parents, you never know when
theyll be gone for good.

Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link
to your past and the people most likely to stick
with you in the future.

Understand that friends come and go,but for the
precious few you should hold on. Work hard to
bridge the gaps in geography in lifestyle because
the older you get, the more you need the people
you knew when you were young.

Enjoy the video.. It's worth the time.
