These are photos of the first flood in Johore. Things did get slightly better after this incidents for a couple of days before the town got hit the second time. This time, it got worse.
Yes, towns that affected by the flood might not be as bad as the first one. Yes, news does not show that it is as bad as Tsunami, Katrina or even Yogjakarta earthquake and yes, you already donate RM5 to the most popular fund raising campaign. That should be enough right?
I'm sorry, but I have to call you the biggest Idiot in the world if you agree on that statement.
No, the situation is much worse, the people are badly affected badly and kids.. well, what can I say? How would you want their future to be? (opps.. wrong question.. that's exactly what you want so that you can exploit them later..)
We need food, clothings, school books or anything that could help them make a good kickstart back to their normal life. This was verified by Loloq as he was there in Kota Tinggi for a short trip last weekend.
A normal RM30K that you spend on a handbag for your birthday present could get a family of 7 kids to live for a year..
So I BEG to all of you. (Yes, I know you loooovee people to beg you..) I BEG all you corporate millionaires, MLM millionaires, Internet millionaires and those proxy businessmen to share a tiny bit of your wealth to help the victim. (100K of 5 million is tiny bit right? Less than 1%?)
So please.. help them in any way. Remember.. God does exists. THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU. I don't mind this to happen in KL if these victims are ignored. Let see if you have enough time to get a flight out of the country if it happens.
While you're at it. A journalist friend from NST is doing her bit. She's collecting stuffs like canned foods, clothes and shoes to be distributed to the victims this weekend. Anybody who wants to contribute can do so buy buying those stuffs and pass it to her. I'll pass her number to those who really interested. She'll be leaving for Johore this weekend.
Weween, it's a great effort. With that great heart, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful wedding this June.
