Seems like I've becoming a lazy bum by the day since we beginning of 2006. First of all, most of the things at work taking a slower pace compared to last year. I, for once, although the work never seems to get lesser, I'm now taking more recreation time than last year. Maybe it's a cosmic sign that no matter how much workload you're facing, as a human, we still need to take some time off and this slow beginning of 2006 is just an indication that nature is forcing to take a short break, rather than experiencing 'short circuit' later
Still, this is 2006. We're already moving to March. 2006 is suppose to be an active year. It is in fact the sporting year. That already shows how active you need to be.
Cut things short.. Among the major sporting event for you to be aware of..
1. WORLD CUP 2006 - The No.1 sporting event (I belive Olympics falls no.2 now..) This is the time where mamak stalls will be full of screaming fans, even on weekdays. This is the time where many people will end up being sleepy in the daytime. This is also the time where girlfriends and wives patience and understanding are tested to the maximum.
World Cup will be take the no.1 spot on the priority list. Nothing can change that for the next 8 weeks or so (unless of course... nature's call)
2. F1 GRAND PRIX - OK.. So not everybody appreciate this sport. But, come on.. at least this is one international event that will happen in Malaysia every year. This year, it would definitely be more ever. At least there's more teams to watch for than the previous year (kalau tak.. asyik Ferrari je dulu.. boring la kan?..) hahaha.. So, I'm eager to see what Renault, McLaren and Ferrari got to offer this year. So much so, I'm also eager to see how the new BMW-Sauber team doing.. Other than that.. as usual.. Ferrari Rocks!!.. (peduli apa??) Oh.. I think I want to get the BMW Sauber Shirt this year. (.. and hope Petronas will lower their petrol price.. No??.. hahah)
3. THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES, Melbourne - Dubbed as the no.2 biggest sporting event after Olympics. If the word 'big' refers to the number of delegates participating the event, then I would agree. In terms of worldwide attention, I do believe World Cup receive more attention, even compared to Olympics. Anyway.. er.. Malaysia Boleh!! (err.. or is it 'Malaysia Boleh?.. Seriously, the sign at the end of the phrase confused me..)
4. OK.. Maybe it's unfair to list this sport at no.4 on the list. This sport definitely got majority Malaysians go crazy everyday in the past years, it should be on the no.1 sport right??.. It's the RACE AGAINST THE OTHER SMS VOTES.. or in the typical kampung speak.. 'LUMBA TAIP SMS'. Agree?? Face it.. AF will not go anywhere. In fact they start to rip people's hard-earn money early this year by giving the public the chance to vote for the songs that should be listed for the new student to sing. Now, How sick (I mean in a good 'Makcik Sayang Mawi' way..) is that?
Whatever it is, this is definitely an active year. Even if you're a couch potato by profession, this year will got you at least move your fingers actively.. (either for channel surfing thru the remote control OR busy typing SMS votes) more than you ever imagined..
Sekian dari saya.. MAJULAH SUKAN UNTUK NEGARA
END
p.s I tried to follow Winter Olympics this year. Unfortunately, Jamaica didn't send a team for Bobsledge this year..So, that kills my interest.
